Collection: Supachura

The ‘Supachura’ series (Japanese for ‘troweled’) is inspired by the raw texture of rocks. Drawing from the Japanese Kurinuki technique, the forms are carved and shaped from a single block of clay using a spatula. I then create casting molds from these sculpted pieces. Each object in the series is cast with liquid porcelain and refined through multiple steps – glazed on the inside and fired. The result is a striking contrast between rough, matte surfaces and smooth, glossy interiors.
